Frequently Asked Questions

WHY BUY BATTERIES EVERY YEAR
E-batt
is a 2.5 amp/hour battery that produces 150 amps  of cranking
power
!
E-batt LASTS WILL LAST 5 TO 7 YEARS!
1) Does the motorcycle charge the battery?
YES!
2) How much does it weigh?
Standard 4 cell model weighs 15oz.

3) Will I need to replace this every year?
No
Expected life is 5 TO 7 years.

4) How does E-batt compare to the stock battery?
E-batt is a 2.3 amp/hour battery. It produces 150 cranking amps. The dimensions
are 4 1/4"W
X 2 3/4"H X 1"D. 12 vdc output. Fits in stock location.
There is a 5.0 amp hour battery available that has 300 cranking amps.

5) How long does it take to charge?
A battery can charge in 20 minutes.
A completely dead battery will reach full capacity in 3 hours

6) What do I need to buy?
Just 1-LITHIUM BATTERY

7) Will my standard battery charger work on E-batt?
YES
8) Do you have one for my bike?
YES.
9) Do I need to modify my bike?
NO
10) I have a dual sport kit,will it work?
YES
11) E-batt has less amp hours than stock. How does this effect me?
The only time this will effect you is in the colder weather. In the cold( below 40f)
the battery will begin to loose power this is typical of all batteries. Here's the
interesting part If this happens, crank the bike a few times and wait (up to 30
seconds). Then try again.
Our 5 amp hour battery does a lot better in the cold.

12) When should I charge the battery?
You shouldn't need to even after periods of long storage. E-batt is designed to
store a 50% charge.  If you need to charge the battery you can use a normal lead
acid battery charger.

13)How long will a battery stay charged in storage?
Batteries will last up to a 1 year in storage.

14) How does the battery work in the cold?
As with all batteries, the colder it gets the less power you have.
Let's say that at
0 degrees your lead acid battery has 30% of its rated capacity.
It starts at 30% and gets weaker.
Our Lithium battery, at the same temperature will have the same 30% of power
but after cranking the starter the battery will get stronger
until it is at 100% power.

15) Will the battery explode or cause a fire?
NO
Traditional lithium ion batteries are made of lithium cobalt oxide (LCO). This
chemistry would sometimes catch fire and explode because of “thermal
runaway”. "Thermal runaway" is usually caused by excessive heat or if the
battery developed an internal short.  We use a special blend of materials to avoid
"thermal runaway" and a unique cell design to solve other safety issues.

Please mount battery in stock location.

16)What will hurt my battery?
THIS IS IMPORTANT!
IF YOUR BATTERY IS DRAINED BELOW 2 VOLTS IT WILL DIE AND IT WILL
NO LONGER ACCEPT A CHARGE.
IT WILL NEED REPLACING AND THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY.
THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE CHEMISTRY OF THE BATTERY.
THIS BATTERY HAS NO CIRCUITRY TO PROTECT FROM OVER CHARGE OR
OVER DISCHARGED. THIS BATTERY IS DESIGNED TO BE THE SAFEST ON THE
MARKET BUT THIS IS 1 OF THE DRAW BACKS.

17)Which battery should I choose?
The 4 cell 2.3 ah 150 amp battery will work on several applications. It is
recommended for engines under 300 cc. It will work on larger engines but we
recommend that you use a lead acid battery charger between uses to keep the
battery fully charged.
If you purchase a 4 cell and are not happy with its performance you can upgrade
your 4 cell for a cost of $50.00 to the 8 cell model. You will need to return your
battery for the upgrade. Customers are responsible for return shipping to us.

The low Amp Hour rating gives the battery no reserve capacity.
HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS
When you start your engine the voltage of the battery drops to a point in its
charge cycle where it can take up to 1 hour to fully charge again.
If your battery does not reach full capacity you will have less cranking power the
next time you try to start your bike.
It comes down to your individual machine.

The
8 cell 5.0 ah 300 amp battery is the best universal choice for applications
over 300 cc. It works on all applications and does not require the use of a charger
in between uses.
You can still uses a lead acid charger to maintain the battery or charge after
periods of storage.
